The real secret for the most tender fall-off-the-bone ribs is to boil the meat, bake it, and grill it. It takes a bit of time to pull it all together, but the result is so good that you’ll never want to do it any other way.
Start by cutting your rack of ribs in half and boiling them for 40-50 minutes in a large pot of water seasoned with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and whatever other spices you want.
Then remove the meat and, while it's still hot, remove the now-loosened fibrous membrane from the back of the ribs.
Now, toss them onto a cookie sheet and bake the meat in a preheated 350ºF oven for about an hour.
Remove the meat from the oven and transfer to a medium-high barbecue for six to seven minutes for each side. During the last couple minutes of cooking, baste the meat with a generous portion of your favorite store-bought or homemade barbecue sauce.
And voilà, you will impress your friends with some of the most mouth-watering, fall-off-the-bone ribs they will have ever tasted.
